Plantiverse is a project developed by the innovative start-up Ecobubble located in Rome, specializing in GreenTech. It is a green area monitoring and management platform that is based on a set of patented methods and systems, known as “Plant-Driven", that dynamically monitor and optimize automation actions based on the vegetative states of plants and the surrounding environment.
Redesign the current website and supplement it with missing information. The website should be focused on providing the most important information about the developing platform - Plantiverse. The website should serve as a presentation of the most important features of the product, mainly to acquire sponsors or customers.
This road represents all the steps we took to redesign the website. It wasn't a linear process and some of the steps we did multiple times - especially the IA and wireframes when we came up with more ideas and insights about our project. The research phase was also partialy conducted earlier - like market research and interviews with potential clients.
As a result of our research, we gathered three key goals that we wanted to use during the process of creating the new website.
Educational Content: Clear, engaging, and accessible explanations of the technologies developed by Plantiverse, their benefits, and their applications in sustainable agriculture.
Interactive Features: Tools and features that allow users to explore our technologies, simulations of their applications, and interactive learning materials.
Research and Case Studies: Detailed presentations of research findings, pilot projects, and case studies that demonstrate the real-world impact of Plantiverse technologies.
This part helped us a lot to organize and structure our content, we also were more sure which information was crucial to show and which wasn't that necessary. We started to see more clearly the big picture of the future website.
We created a few versions of the wireframes. Firstly I started with the paper one to create general construction how the website should look like, then after a disscusions and meeting with my team I decided to transfer this ideas to the Figma.
Before making the hi-fidelity we created a moodboard, the things we wanted to include in our website. Mostly we were focused on the aesthetic and the solutions how to place text in interesting and engaging way.
In the beginning of design process we decided on exact colors and font and then I created a created a styleguide which I used to create hi-fidelity wireframes.
During the process I created components which was very helpful and made a website more consistent.
My internship was a very developing time for me. First of all, I learned:
I worked with people from different countries and each of us had specific tasks to perform. We did some of them in a larger group and it showed me that efficient communication is very important and how much it can improve the process of creating a new project. Each person contributed interesting observations and ideas that were key to the overall process of creating the website.
During our meeting, our entire team has the opportunity to express their opinion on the project. It taught me a lot not to be afraid to say if I would change something. Additionally, it was a very developing experience not to take criticism personally, but to treat it in the context of improving the design.
The website was developing during our process and some of the things we needed to do earlier and because of this was really important to manage the time efficiently to reach the deadline. Also, I did some tasks alone and it required me to sufficiently plan the important tasks in order to complete the goals.
I learned a lot of new things during my internship. First of all, I gained the skills to create a website in Webflow and thanks to this I looked at this process from a different perspective - through the eyes of a web developer. I realized how important a clean, orderly file is, which made work go much faster. Additionally, it is normal to make mistakes in design, and it is important to develop with each subsequent project.
